WE ARE CORNWALL
By Chantal Tranchemontagne & Lauren McGill
Friends, we are gathered here today to celebrate all that we are and all that we love. We’re passionate about beer and the people who brew it. We hear the passing ships in the morning and the roar of the speedway at night. We cherish our patios, pools, and parties. we cheer for the Colts and argue about who makes the best pizza. We feast on gold-dusted burgers, buy french fries from chip trucks and know where to get the best perch rolls. We forage for wild garlic and eat organic kale grown in shipping containers. In general, we’re nice and polite—unless you mess with our front yard hockey rinks or bike lanes. (Then we be nasty!) We speak frenglish or franglais, and we can all swear in French, Tabarnac’. We come out for the Barstool Prophets and Mélanie Brulée, and have a love/hate relationship with country music. We cheer at the Benson Centre and rock out in Lamoureux Park. our buses are blue and white, and we embrace the four routes. From the Cotton Mills to Eamer’s Corners, from Riverdale to Sunrise Acres, from Gray’s Creek to Guidon Park…WE ARE CORNWALL.
Cheers to us!
